Journalist Wondemenew Admas has been taken

Journalist Wondemenew Admas has been taken to federal police for crime investigation.

It can be recalled that Mr. Wendimenew Admas, the journalist of Balderas for True Democracy Party, was taken from his house by armed men yesterday. However, in the efforts of his family to investigate this, it has been determined that he is found in a federal police criminal investigation facility

The detention of journalists in Ethiopia is a serious concern, reflecting broader issues of press freedom and human rights in the country. Addressing these challenges requires a concerted effort from the Ethiopian government, civil society, and the international community to ensure that journalists can work without fear of retribution and contribute to the democratic process.

The international community, including the United Nations and various foreign governments, has urged Ethiopia to respect press freedom and ensure the safety and security of journalists. These calls emphasize the importance of a free press in fostering transparency, accountability, and democracy.
