Protest in Frankfurt Condemns Atrocities Against Amhara People

A protest was held yesterday in Frankfurt, where members of the Ethiopian diaspora and human rights supporters gathered to denounce ongoing violence in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. Demonstrators called attention to what they describe as grave human rights violations and urged the international community to intervene.

Participants carried banners and chanted slogans demanding justice, accountability, and protection for civilians affected by the conflict. The demonstration reflected growing concern among diaspora communities across Europe and beyond regarding the situation in Amhara.

Ambassador Media was present at the protest, with exiled journalist Muluken Tekelyohanes joining the gathering and lending his voice to the calls for awareness and action. His participation highlighted the role of independent journalism in bringing visibility to underreported crises.

As someone who personally attended the protest, I witnessed a strong sense of unity and urgency among participants. Many expressed frustration over what they see as a lack of adequate international response. There was also a shared determination to continue raising awareness until meaningful action is taken.

Speakers and attendees emphasized the need for global institutions, human rights organizations, and foreign governments to closely examine the situation and respond to the humanitarian concerns being raised.

The protest in Frankfurt stands as part of a broader wave of demonstrations organized by Ethiopians in the diaspora, all in their call for justice, peace, and the protection of innocent lives in the Amhara region.
