People in the Ethiopian diaspora have organized numerous demonstrations around the world, particularly in cities with large Ethiopian communities like Washington D.C., London, Toronto, and Paris. These protests have called for an end to the violence, the protection of civilians, and accountability for those responsible for atrocities. Many demonstrators have also expressed concern about the international community’s perceived inaction in stopping the violence.
As a journalist committed to truth, human rights, and justice, I will be attending the demonstration in Sweden on November 16, 2024, to stand in solidarity with those whose lives have been torn apart by the ongoing conflict in Ethiopia.
This demonstration is an opportunity to raise our voices against the killing of innocent civilians, the atrocities committed during the conflict, and the denial of humanitarian aid to millions of Ethiopians caught in the crossfire.
