Ethiopian government has abducted and disappeared youths from Addis Abeba

Since last week, the regime has been abducting suspected political activists in Addis Ababa, preventing them from reaching their families. Yesterday, Ato Habtamu Kitaba, a member of the organizing committee of the Ethiopian Party, was abducted.

Although his family asked where Habtamu was being taken, it was learned that the kidnappers threatened his family and prevented him from leaving the house. It is not clear who the government crackdown is targeting, but other young activists in the city are still being abducted.

In recent days, the government has abducted and disappeared the following youths from Addis Ababa:

  1. Surafel Buruk
  2. Sebsbe Alemu
  3. Amanuel Yamene Berhan
  4. Genet Arage
  5. Habtamu Shotelai
  6. Kfulom Habte
  7. Winta Nurhusen
  8. Tsion. When asked where they were abducted, the government refused to respond.

Their families have been searching for them at the Federal Police Commission in Mexico, the Addis Ababa Police Commission, the Kfule City Police Department, and the Woreda Police Stations, and they are confused about what to do.Their families have asked the government to show them their children, but they have not seen them.
