The Issue
We undersigned demand the immediate release of all Amhara political prisoners !
In Ethiopia, there are numerous politicians, journalists, activists, historians, influencers, etc., who have been wrongfully arrested and detained due to their Amhara identity and different political beliefs.
Their detainment is a clear violation of human rights and freedom of thought, holding them captive simply for expressing their political views. According to multiple reports, there’s a noticeable trend of detaining opposition politicians or activists, particularly those linked to Amhara ethnicity, under Ethiopia’s broad and misused laws designed to counter terrorism or incitement to violence. This practice threatens Ethiopia’s democratic progress.
Therefore we are signing this petition:-
- To demand Sweden parliament, president Donald Trump, European Union, United Nations, UN security council, African union, other players to break the silence and use their power to put pressure on prosperity party’s Abiy Ahmed regime to release political prisoners.
- To demand justice and compensation for all Amhara political prisoners.
- To demand the respect of prisoners right and get the right treatment of their health.
We demand the release of all the following Amhara Prisoners including historian Tadios Tantu and many other imprisoned Amhara’s.
