In recent days, Ambassador Media has been the target of coordinated cyber intrusion attempts aimed at breaching our editorial platform. The pattern and persistence of these failed login attacks suggest more than random probing—they point to a deliberate effort to undermine our work.
As an independent media outlet committed to reporting on government accountability, human rights, and social justice across Ethiopia, we have long anticipated that our work would attract resistance. What we are now facing appears to be a form of digital repression—intended to silence our platform and discourage critical reporting.
Our technical review traced the origins of many of these login attempts to IP addresses based in Ethiopia. While the investigation remains ongoing, the timing, frequency, and nature of these attacks raise serious concerns about involvement or tacit support from actors within the Ethiopian state apparatus.
Let it be clear: attempts to censor, intimidate, or digitally sabotage us will not succeed.
We reaffirm our commitment to fearless journalism, transparency, and accountability. Ambassador Media was founded to give voice to the stories the powerful would rather ignore. That mission will not change in the face of cowardly online aggression.
We call on readers, international media allies, and defenders of press freedom to remain vigilant. Cyberattacks on the press are not just technical threats—they are assaults on truth itself.
