Dr. Selshi Bekele, the lawyer of Abay Dam, has resigned from his position as ambassador saying that he will not accept the appointment of the prosperity government under any authority.
Sileshi Bekele, the Ethiopian Ambassador to the United States, has resigned from his position and public service. His resignation is partly in response to his disapproval of recent political appointments within the Prosperity Party. Before serving as ambassador, Sileshi was the Minister of Water, Irrigation, and Energy, and played a significant role in negotiations related to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD)
